The Paper Girl of Paris
By Jordyn Taylor
Now:
When sixteen-year-old Alice inherits an apartment in Paris that has been locked for over seventy years, she is determined to discover why its existence was hidden from her family for so long. However, the more time she spends digging through the mysteries of the past, the more she realizes there are secrets in the present that her family is still refusing to talk about.
Then:
Ever since the Nazis invaded France, Adalyn has been determined to do something. When she meets Luc, the dashing and enigmatic leader of a resistance group, Adalyn feels she finally has a chance to fight back...even if it means risking her safety, her reputation, and her relationship with the people she loves the most.
Although separated by generations, Alice's and Adalyn's fates are entwined in ways both heartbreaking and hopeful. Jordyn Taylor masterfully weaves together both girls' stories in a thrilling combination of high stakes, tantalizing mystery, and the romance of the City of Lights.
Jess Says:
The Paper Girl of Paris is an underrated historical fiction title with great dual narration. Adalyn is a courageous mc whose role is truly inspiring while Alice has a relatable coming of age story. This book is perfect for readers who love discovering smaller untold historical stories like All the Light We Cannot See and untwining family histories. This cover stood out to me, but it took me a bit to purchase it and I so wish I read it sooner! I highly recommend this book if you like World War II stories, European adventures, or want a more serious love story.
